As a busy married mum, balancing a career and raising two kids, I know Labour will continue to deliver for families just like mine.
I live in Manurewa with my husband and two young children. I am of Te Aitanga-a-Māhaki, Ngāi Tahu and Ngāi Tūhoe.
My background is as a lawyer, having previously served as a member of the Waitematā District Health Board and on the Unitec Institute of Technology's Te Rūnanga Advisory Group.
I grew up in South Auckland. My father served as a Papakura City councillor for many years, and my mother continues to work as a GP. I previously worked for a leading corporate law firm and have a strong background as a community organiser.
I stood for Parliament because I want New Zealand to be a decent, fair place for my kids - doing my best for them means fighting for all families to have warm dry homes, our young people to be in world class education, our workers to be paid a decent wage and an environment that we care for as kaitiaki.
My politics is grounded in my faith and in the belief that everyone has inherent dignity, that work and service bring us fulfilment, and that we have a duty to care for creation.
Under Labour, people in Manurewa had more opportunities. I’m working to continue that progress and keep our community moving forward.
